Physics Engineering student and ’15 REU 
alumna Amanda Belding, is headed to Texas to present with her team at SpaceX. Their Capstone project submitted ideas for Hyperloop travel in competition with more than 300 other university submissions, and are among the finalists.

The 2015 Research Experience for Undergrads (REU) program has commenced! This annual program brings undergraduate students from across the USA to CEM for a summer full of science, learning, and new experiences. The budding scientists work on experimental or computational research projects, alongside a graduate student mentor, as well as participate in professional development and peer networking and social activities.
Congratulations to two of our former CEM REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) students whose research was just published in Applied Physics Letters:

This is a wonderful accomplishment, and it serves as a inspiration to current and future CEM REU students.
