About this event

Prof. Richard Dronskowski is the Chair of the Solid-State and Quantum Chemistry Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at Aachen University in Germany. Richard is a world leader in the application of computations to understand structure, property and bonding of extended solids. He is the author of several books on Quantum Chemistry including - Computational Chemistry of Solid State Materials and Chemical Bonding - From Plane Waves to Atomic Orbitals. He is perhaps best known for developing the code LOBSTER, which analyzes the output of plane wave DFT calculations from codes such as VASP, Quantum Espresso, and Abinit to extract chemically useful information, such as Crystal Orbital Hamiltonian Population.
