Broadening Participation
CEM programs engage students and scientists at all stages of the academic pipeline. Our integrated initiatives provide research opportunities, mentorship, and educational experiences that help participants develop successful scientific careers.
From elementary school outreach through Scientific Thinkers to advanced research training in our Masters to PhD Bridge Program, we focus on building strong foundations in science. Our REU programs give undergraduates hands-on experience in cutting-edge facilities, while partnerships with Polaris and MUSE create supportive peer networks that enhance student success.
These coordinated efforts strengthen the materials research community by providing access to advanced facilities, fostering supportive learning environments, and creating clear pathways for academic advancement.
