CEM, CCAPP, and Physics will be partnering to host 60 gifted and talented middle school students (split into groups) from Columbus City Schools for the annual Breakfast of Science Champions event.

CEM is currently seeking volunteers for a few different jobs, including 1) running the two CEM demo stations (super conducting train and general magnetism demos); 2) running the liquid nitrogen show, and 3) helping to make liquid nitrogen ice cream.

Volunteer Time Commitment:

  • Demo Station
    • Arrive in atrium between 10:15 and 10:50 to review/practice demos and set up in preparation for the students
    • Lead 4 groups at the station from 11:15-12:15
    • Clean up
  • Liquid Nitrogen show
    • Review activities for the show/practice between 10:15 and 11:00
    • Set up: 12:15
    • Show: 12:20-12:50
    • Clean up
  • Liquid nitrogen ice cream
    • Arrive: 12:15
    • Help make ice cream 12:20-12:50
    • Distribute Ice cream and clean up
