This page includes a list of current and future opportunities for volunteering and outreach. CEM Scholars are required to complete at least 5 hours of outreach per year that scholars are funded.

CEM’s Scientific Thinkers Visits at Innis Elementary School
Classroom visits are on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00pm; including travel/set-up is a commitment from 1:30-3:30PM. Please visit our website and email scientificthinkers@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering.

Science Olympiad State Tournament
Science Olympiad is a national program dedicated to improving the interest of all students in the ever-changing world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The program is currently soliciting volunteers for the State Tournament on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Visit https://ohso.osu.edu/ to register as a volunteer.

COSI Academy NanoDays
The COSI Academy program is targeted to low income and underrepresented high school students who are interested in STEM careers. Every Saturday they study a different subject, featuring either visits from people in academia and industry, or field trips to businesses or labs. Nanotechnology will be will be a featured topic in Spring 2017.

COSI is looking for students who work with nanotechnology to demonstrate possible career paths in the field, and engage the students with nanotechnology. Please contact Carla Mello (cmello@cosi.org) for more information.
