The Center for Emergent Materials (CEM) is a part of the network of National Science Foundation supported Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers (MRSEC), located at academic institutions throughout the United States. MRSECs support transdisciplinary materials research and education of the highest quality while addressing fundamental problems in science and engineering that are important to society. Read more about the program by visiting their website: https://mrsec.org/
The CEM program reinforces NSF’s commitment to excellence in interdisciplinary research and education by partnering with other MRSECs to plan and participate in events and activities that foster collaboration across programs. A recent example is the Industry Consortium event we organized, bringing together four MRSECs to enhance student community and cross-collaboration through networking and engagement with Industry representatives. CEM also jointly plans and participates in collaborative student workshops throughout the year. To read more about our collaborative events, see below.
