The Internal Advisory Council (IAC) is hosting a weekly mini-course series this semester. Mini-Course is a new event series that started last semester with the aim of providing students with an in-depth explanation of a certain topic related to the research at the CEM. The course is normally in the range of 2 – 4 talks covered in one month given by one faculty. The goal of which is to provide an extensive explanation of a single scientific topic and allow time for discussion and questions; both of which are normally ignored in a single one-hour talk.

This semester, we are hosting a course on “Pathways of Magnetic Exchanges” given by our IRG-1 faculty, Dr. Patrick Woodward. The course will cover topics such as magnetism from a chemistry point of view and superexchange. This series will be held on Fridays at 3:30 in a hybrid mode starting Friday, 3/22/2024.
