CEM to host Fellowship Panel Discussion
The Center for Emergent Materials is hosting a panel for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program on Wednesday, November 2, 2-3:30 PM in 1080 Physics Research Building. Please see the flyer for additional details.
The panel will consist of three current NSF Graduate Fellows, a Goldwater Scholar, and a Fellowship Advisor from the University Honors Center.
Additional information for other upcoming Undergraduate and Graduate Fellowships will also be provided.

CEM Workshop on Magnetic Domains – Dr. Rudolf Schäfer
Dr. Rudolf Schäfer is a world renowned expert on magnetism and magnetic domains. Dr. Schäfer is a co-author, together with Dr. Alex Hubert, of a monograph “Magnetic Domains. The Analysis of Magnetic Microstructures” a fundamental book on magnetic domain theory, observation techniques and interpretation. These exciting topics will be covered during the 3-day CEM sponsored workshop that will be held September 19-21 in room 4138 PRB. The workshop targets the broad audience of scientists working in the field of magnetism.
Panel Discussion: What Can I Do with a PhD?
The Center for Emergent Materials is hosting a “What can I do with a PhD?” panel discussion for the OSU Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, STEM, undergraduate and graduate students on Friday, July 22, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at 1080 Smith Seminar Room.
The panel will consist of speakers from national research laboratories, industry and businesses. Representatives will be Dr. Phil Schlosser, Engineering Education Innovation Center, The Ohio State University; Dr. Deb Whitis, General Electric; Dr. Roberto Rojas, Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Education, The Ohio State University; Dr. Umit Ozkan, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, The Ohio State University; a representative from a national lab and faculty members from a large research institution. The speakers will share their experiences and answer questions from the audience.
