CEM announces new Internship Award Program

The Center for Emergent Materials announces the establishment of two new funding opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers: the CEM International Internship and the CEM Industrial Internship.

The aim of the Internship Award Program is to expand and to advance collaborative projects with international and industrial partners, and to provide incentive and opportunity to forge new partnerships. Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 toward allowable costs of research on-site in the partner institution/industry facility.  Allowable costs include travel-related expenses (airfare, housing, etc), materials and supplies, and facility fees. Internships will be for a minimum of 4 weeks in duration.

Eligibility: Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers working with a CEM core faculty member on CEM-related research are eligible.

Applications: Applications should include a one-page proposal with anticipated budget, a letter of invitation from the hosting partner, and a letter from the CEM faculty sponsor indicating their support and detailing the extent of supplemental funds committed to the proposed internship.
