Texas Instruments Internship for CEM Grad Students

CEM has recently learned of a graduate-level internship opportunity at Texas Instruments. The Process Engineering Internship is a full-time position located in the Dallas, TX area. Ideal candidates will posess knowledge/understanding of lithography processes, lithography simulation techniques and optical proximity correction techniques used in semiconductor manufacturing and process development. Summer Internships at HGST for CEM Grad Students

CEM is excited toHGST Logo announce that for a second summer, HGST in San Jose, CA has made two summer internship opportunities available for our graduate students. For summer 2015, one student each in theory and experiment will be competitively selected to work on non-volatile memory (NVM) research. Kickoff Celebrates and Introduces Renewed Center

DSC07596On February 27th, the CEM hosted a kickoff to celebrate the achievement of renewal and introduce the new center. Director P. Chris Hammel, professor of physics, gave an introduction to the center’s new participants and goals. The gathering brought CEM faculty and students together with the broader OSU community and notable university leaders, including DSC_2040President Drake, Dr. Caroline Whitacre (Vice President for Research), Deans Manderscheid (Arts and Sciences), Williams (Engineering), and Osmer (The Graduate School).

A poster session and reception were held following the presentations, with 25 CEM students presenting. The session highlighted new and current research, offering opportunities for interaction and a more detailed presentation of the center’s science.
